Rest Not

My house is an embarrassing mess. Has been for a while now. Seriously. I am ashamed. I haven't allowed anyone inside for longer than I care to admit.

Today is the day. The laundry is going. I've vaccummed the rug. Now here I am on the internet again... a great source of my timewasting.

The other great timewaster is my couch.
Since my Christmas gifts have all yet to be wrapped - I stacked them all on the sofa so that I have no choice but to keep moving!

The most brilliant thing I've done all week!

Also learned: if the kitchen floor ought to be washed, but it's not bad enough to compell me to actually get down on my hands and knees - inevitably, I'll break something made of glass.
For me, the only way to ensure that my perpetually barefoot self doesn't end up with a bloody shard a few days later when I've blissfully forgotten the risk... is a wet cloth.
Sometimes I think that's God's way of saying, "Seriously. Wash the floor."

You go girl. I have 81 boxes and miscellaneous pieces of furniture waiting for me in NC. Who knows how long its going to take to unpack. :)

Very clever idea! I left all mine on the kitchen table or the island, but all that did was make me eat on the couch!

I finally wrapped all my presents this evening when I came home from taking my dad shopping for my mom. So I had all mine to wrap plus his. I'll have a few more on Christmas Eve when he brings over the rest he plans on buying next week....sigh.

Well, I am making my suitcase for spending a few days at my mother's AND tidying up my room, lest she will visit or drop by when I come back (as I do not have a car, it may happen that my brother brings us in his car)... I understand. And I have been known to tidy up the full house when ex-boyfriend would come for dinner.

I can so relate to this. My house is sort of ok right now (the living room and kitchen at least) but there was a time it was so cluttered that when my dad would come over we would just sit at the picnic table on the deck and visit because he knew if he came he would just start giving me a hard time about everything.

yeah, you'd think God wouldn't give a hoot about the cleanliness of a kitchen floor, but he actually does. i've also been on the receiving end of this kind of message, except mine is usually about the bathroom :)
